StreamAgent vs. VideoAsk: which interactive video tool fits lead generation?
Both make video interactive. They solve different problems. An honest comparison for teams choosing between async video conversations and full video funnels.
Search for interactive video and two very different tools share the results page. VideoAsk, from the Typeform team, is a genuinely clever product: async video conversations with real branching logic, answer scoring, even calendar bookings and payments inside the flow. So this is not a comparison between a toy and a platform. It is a comparison between two units of work: a conversation, and a pitch.
The short answer
VideoAsk is built around conversation. You record short video questions, your audience replies with video, audio, or text, and logic routes each person through the steps. It shines as a video form: applications, intake, testimonials, screening calls, anywhere a human face makes a form feel personal.
StreamAgent is built around conversion. Long-form footage carries the pitch, a VSL, a webinar replay, a demo, and decision points on the timeline route each viewer, capture the email at peak interest, and score intent from what they watched, chose, and answered. One is a better way to ask questions. The other is a machine for producing qualified pipeline.
VideoAsk makes a form feel human. StreamAgent makes a pitch work the room.
| VideoAsk | StreamAgent | |
|---|---|---|
| The core motion | Async conversation: you ask on camera, they reply | A pitch that plays, asks, and qualifies at scale |
| The unit of video | Short clips in steps, recorded up to five minutes each | Long-form footage with decision points on the timeline |
| Logic and scoring | If/then branching and answer points, filterable in an inbox | Branching plus intent scored on behavior, answers, and paths |
| Knowing who is ready to buy | Per-step metrics and score filters | Lead intelligence: a dossier per viewer, ranked into a call sheet |
| Ad platforms | Paste-in pixels firing four fixed browser events | Intent-graded CAPI conversion events, browser and server, four platforms |
| Where AI helps | Routing spoken replies and summarizing answers | Reading results: an assistant you ask which video prints leads |
Credit where due: the logic is real
VideoAsk’s branching is not decoration. Conditional and advanced if/then logic route respondents by answer, points accumulate into scores that can themselves branch the flow, and the answer types run deep: contact forms, Calendly and HubSpot bookings, Stripe payments, file uploads. As a structured way to have a thousand asynchronous conversations, it earns its keep.
The five-minute wall
The structural limit is the unit of video. VideoAsk conversations are short clips arranged in steps, recorded up to five minutes each, and the product is metered in processing minutes, not built as a home for footage. A twenty-minute VSL or a webinar replay simply does not live there. StreamAgent starts from the long-form pitch and adds the interactivity to its timeline, which means the asset that already carries your best argument is the one doing the qualifying.
Scoring answers versus scoring people
VideoAsk scores what people say: points per answer, a total in the inbox, filters to sort by it. Useful, and honest as far as it goes. StreamAgent scores what people say and what they do: watch depth, rewatches, chosen paths, and declared answers combine into one intent score, because anyone can click the confident option but nobody fakes twenty engaged minutes. Each lead lands with a dossier of their full journey, ranked against every other viewer, and rotations quietly test which version of the pitch produces the better scores.
Ads: four events versus a signal stream
VideoAsk supports analytics pixels the paste-in way: Meta Pixel, Google Analytics, and Tag Manager, firing four fixed events from the browser. There is no server-side channel, no Google Ads or TikTok or LinkedIn integration, and no audience sync. StreamAgent streams intent-graded conversion events to all four platforms through their Conversions APIs, from browser and server, deduplicated. If paid traffic feeds your funnel, this is the widest gap on the page.
Choose VideoAsk if
- You want async video conversations: intake, applications, testimonials, screening.
- Your audience should reply on camera, not just click and type.
- The interaction is the product, and a form with a face is exactly what you need.
Choose StreamAgent if
- Your videos carry the pitch and should close, not just converse.
- You want intent scored on behavior and answers, with dossiers and a ranked list.
- You want versions competing behind one link with Smart Rotations.
- You buy traffic and want intent-graded CAPI events training your campaigns.
Different units of work, different tools. If the conversation is the point, VideoAsk does it with charm. If the pipeline is the point, that is exactly what we built.
A form with a face is friendly. A pitch with a brain is profitable.
One platform, seven layers
This article covered one slice. The machine ships whole: record it, get it found, arm it, test it, rank the leads, train the ads, and ask your AI how it is going.
